The blood test indicates how well the kidneys would be able to filter the blood, called the GFR. The GFR is said to stand for the Glomerular filtration rate. The urine test would be required to check for albumin. The albumin is a protein which could be passed into the urine when your kidneys are damaged.

The normal eGFR if greater than 90, values that are low as 60 that considered normal if there could be other evidence of the kidney disease. The eGFR is often shown as the percentage of any normal because people would find it useful to think of any kidney function as the percentage, going from 100% (fully functioning) to 0% (no function).
