Liver Profile-2 Package

Are you intending to take extra care of your liver? Then this article is for you.

Liver function tests can be used to detect liver infections like hepatitis. Monitor the progression of a disease, such as viral or alcoholic hepatitis, and assess the efficacy of a treatment. Determine the severity of a disease, particularly liver scarring.

The liver panel 2 package includes more tests to allow you to examine yourself more thoroughly in a single visit.

There are multiple tests in liver profile:

  • GAMMA
  • SGOT (AST)
  • SGPT(ALT)
  • SERUM BILIRUBIN TOTAL
  • SERUM BILIRUBIN DIRECT
  • SERUM BILIRUBIN INDIRECT
  • SERUM TOTAL PROTEIN
  • SERUM ALBUMIN
  • SERUM GLOBULIN
  • A: G Ratio
  • SERUM ALKALINE PHOSP. (ALP)
  • PROTHROMBIN TIME
  • HBSAG ANTIGEN
  1. Gamma-glutamyl transferase Test - The amount of GGT in the blood is measured by a gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) test. GGT is an enzyme found all over the body, but it is most prevalent in the liver. GGT may leak into the bloodstream if the liver is damaged.
  2. SGOT (serum glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase) Test - The SGOT test is a blood test used to evaluate the liver. It measures serum glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase, one of two liver enzymes.
  3. SGPT (Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase) - High enzyme levels may indicate that the liver is injured or irritated, with enzymes leaking out of the liver cells. Because ALT was previously known as serum glutamic-pyruvic transaminase, or SGPT, this test is also known as an SGPT test.
  4. Serum Bilirubin test - determine the amount of bilirubin in your blood. Bilirubin is a yellowish substance produced by your body as it breaks down old red blood cells. Bilirubin is found in bile, a fluid produced by your liver that aids in digestion.
  5. Serum Total Protein Test - The total serum protein test determines the amount of protein in the blood. It also assesses the levels of two major protein groups in the blood: albumin and globulin. Albumin. This is primarily produced in the liver.
  6. Serum Albumin Test - The amount of this protein in the clear liquid portion of the blood is measured by a serum albumin test.
  7. A.G Ratio Test - A total protein and albumin/globulin (A/G) ratio test determines how much protein is in your blood.
  8. ALP alkaline phosphatase Test - The amount of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) in your blood is measured by an alkaline phosphatase (ALP) test. ALP is an enzyme found throughout your body. ALP is produced differently in different parts of your body. The majority of ALP is found in your liver, bones, kidneys, and digestive tract.
  9. Prothrombin time (PT) test - determines how long it takes for a blood clot to form in a sample of blood. An INR (international normalised ratio) is a calculation based on the results of a PT test. Prothrombin is a protein that the liver produces. It's one of a group of substances known as clotting (coagulation) factors.
  10. HBsAg (Hepatitis B surface antigen) Test - HBsAg assays are routinely used to diagnose suspected HBV infection and track the status of infected people to see if the infection has resolved or if the patient has become a chronic carrier of the virus.
