This test helps find any broken pelvic bones, like the hip bone and the top part of the thigh bone, and checks how the broken bone is healing after it has been set. It also helps find infections, osteoporosis, deformities, or abnormal growth of the bones in this area. It can also help find hip dislocations.

• No preparation is needed. You should wear loose-fitting clothing.

• Notify your technician if you are pregnant, as radiation may harm the baby if not disclosed to the sonography technician.
