HLA-A2 (A*02) Test Cost & Procedure

This test is used for the detection of Alzheimer's disease and the detection of HLA-A2, which inhibits the replication of HIV

What is HLA-A2 (A*02)?

HLA stands for Human Leukocyte Antigen. It I a significant type of histocompatibility Test(MHC). It plays two functions:

• Inhibition of HIV multiplication
• Stimulate the Blood mononuclear cells

HLA-A*02 is a polymorphic histocompatibility complex.

What is MHC?

HLA is a tumor antigen to T cells for the immune system. Antigens bind to proteins for the release of antibodies for the immune system. It assists the body in the quarrel against infection.

What is HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus)

This is a type of two types: HIV-1 and HIV-2. It is a constituent of the Lentivirus family of Retroviridae and causes AIDS(Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome).

This test is exclusively done to detect the type of infection caused to the patient.

In this test, Western Blot Test is accomplished.

There are three tests done to detect HIV:

How is HIV Tested?

The first test that is performed is Antigen/Antibody Test. If this test is positive, then lab tests are recommended.

HIV tests are usually precise and are confirmed soon.

Alzheimer's Disease:

This disease usually causes a decrease in the thinking capacity of the individual. It is generally seen in patients above 65 years of age. It's a fatal brain condition in which the patient is affected so that his thinking capacity and memory are decreased along with his organizing skills. This further can cause dementia too.
