CECT thorax is a radiological examination in which contrast (dye) is used to visualize chest and lung problems.

Why is it done?

In pregnancy and allergic reactions from iodine, the scan is not performed.

What is the procedure for CECT Thorax?

In this scan you need to lie on the table and hands are placed on the sides through IV line dye(contrast medium) injected. 

How does one prepare for this test?

4-6 hours of fasting are required. You need to bring the serum creatinine and all medical reports.

Aftercare

After completion of the scan, IV line is removed from your forearm. You need to drink a lot of water for faster removal of dye.
