Beta-2 Microglobulin, Serum

Beta 2 microglobulin is a tumor marker protein and this test measures its quantity in patient’s bodily fluids. Specimen used for test is blood but urine is also used as specimen. B2M is that marker which is generally present in human cells and its small amount is also present in blood and urine but the increased amount suggests few types of blood and bone marrow cancers.

However, this test is not enough for the right diagnoses as Beta-2 Microglobulin can be increased by so many underlying issues. More test will be needed for the better diagnoses.
