What is an X-ray Tunnel View of the Right Knee Test?

The knee joint can be seen on an X-ray of the knee test. With the knee bent 60 degrees, the tunnel view is a frontal view. It can be taken from the front (AP) with the patient lying down or from the back (PA) with the patient facing forward or kneeling on the cassette.

Why is it done? 

• To diagnose knee fractures and monitor healing following setting.
• For diagnosing infections, osteoporosis, deformities, or abnormal bone development.
• For diagnosing osteoarthritis or knee dislocation.
