What is an X-ray Right Hand AP & Oblique Test?

A hand X-ray is used to visualize the bones of the hand and the surrounding soft tissues (skin and muscles). Carpals (wrist bones), metacarpals (bones between the wrist and fingers), and phalanges are the bones of the hand (bones of fingers).

Why is it done? 

• To find out if any of the bones in your hand are broken or fractured, watch how the broken bone heals after it has been set.

• To identify any infection, deformities, abnormal bone growth, and arthritis (inflammation of the joints).
