Urine Occult Blood

Usually human urine ( except females during menstruation) does not contain RBC usually in the range of 0-3 RBC/hpf in males and 0-12 RBC/hpf in females. Occult blood cells are not visible under microscope. To identify if RBC is really present in urine occult blood test is done.

How the example is gathered for testing?

The test requires a urine sample. If urine has a red coloration, it is observed under microscope. If RBC are not observed occult blood test is performed. Various test kits are also available in the market.
