What is the Culture and Sensitivity Urine Test?

Culture Urine can detect infections or dangerous bacteria. Infection-causing pathogens can enter the urinary system through the urethra. If your doctor suspects a urinary tract infection (UTI), they may recommend this test. UTI symptoms include urination, pain, fever, and frequent urination.

Why Done?

Procedure

It is advisable to not pee for at least an hour before you give the urine sample. It is advisable to drink at least 8 ounces of the water 20 minutes before sample collection to also ensure there's enough urine to further test. Collect the urine sample first thing in morning time.
