This test is used to estimate the thyroid hormones: T4 and TSH. This test helps investigate whether the thyroid gland is working correctly or not.

Thyroid Gland:

This is a small gland which is of the shape of a butterfly present in the neck. It has two lobes which are divided by an isthmus. It is the producing house of the following hormones:

  • T3
  • T4
  • TSH

What is T4?

It is a thyroid hormone that helps maintain the energy of the body. It is well known as Thyroxine.

If the levels of T4 increases, it causes the following:

  • Sweating

What is TSH Hormone?
