Scleroderma (SCL-70) Antibody

Scl 70 (topoisomerase 1) is a nucleolar and nuclear enzyme of 100 kD. Antibodies against Scl 70 are considered specific for scleroderma (systemic sclerosis) and are discovered in up to 60% of patients with this connective tissue disease. 

Why done?
