Pediculosis Capitis (Head Lice infestation) is a common parasite infection. It affects both scalp and hair. Head lice are tiny and wingless insects that live on the human scalp and feed on human blood. The infection is mostly found in children and spread easily via close contact with person such as sharing comb, hats, or brushes.

The symptoms of head lice infestation are:

• Itching of scalp
• Irritation of scalp
• Presence of small oval shaped eggs.
• Presence of tiny yellowish brown or white insects on the hair shafts
• Presence of white insects around the scalp.

Diagnosis of head lice infestation is typically made by identifying the lice or nits on the scalp or hair shafts during a visual examination.
