This test is used to diagnose Enteric Parasites. The following are enteric parasites:

  • Cryptosporidium spp.
  • Isospora spp.
  • Microsporidia Stercoralis
  •  spp
  • Strongyloides stercoralis

These parasites cause Diarrhea in immunocompromised patients. This is a screening test that is done by using a microscope.

This test is done on an electron microscope. An electron microscope is one of the latest microscopes developments with high-resolution results.

Diarrhea:

This condition is marked by frequent bowel movements having loose and watery stools. Patients suffering from diarrhea have excessive stomach pain and vomiting.

Symptoms are seen in diarrhea:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting

  • Bloody Stools
  • Stools with mucus
  • Frequent movements of the bowel

Opportunistic Enteric Parasitic Infections:

This condition is seen in HUB patients, and CD-4+ cells are responsible for this. The lower the number of CD-4 cells, the more fatal the disease and symptoms are.

How is HIV Tested?

  • Three samples of feces are required on separate days.
  • Formol ether is one solution that is put in the sample.
  • The slide is made with the samples. Thfallde will be stained by Kinyoun Acid fast method and rapid field stain.
