MRI Whole Abdomen and MRCP is a way to get detailed images of the pancreatic systems, and hepatobiliary that include the pancreas, pancreatic ducts, liver, bile ducts, and gallbladder.

Why done?

MRI and MRCP scans can help detect bile-duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma). Also, it can diagnose tumors, infection, and inflammation in your pancreas.

Procedure

It is a non-invasive medical procedure that scans the whole pancreas, liver, bile duct, and gallbladder areas with radio waves and magnetic fields. A contrast of dye might be used to get more precise images.

How one is prepared for the test?

You need to fast for 8 hours prior to your scan. If you are under any medication you can have them with a sip of water but do consult your doctor. You need to change your outfit to the hospital gown and no metal accessories are allowed.

After Care:
