MRI Thoracic Spine

An MRI of the thoracic spine (also known as the mid-back) can be helpful in the diagnosis of a variety of disorders affecting the cartilage and bone structure that can be the consequence of injury, illness, or the natural ageing process. 

Why is it done? 

The MRI scan can identify any abnormalities in the spinal canal or spinal cord and evaluate the spinal discs to detect whether or not they are bulging, ruptured, or pushing on the spinal cord or nerves in the surrounding area.
