MRI Sacral Spine

MRI of the Sacral Spine is utilised to visualise the sacrum (the triangle bone at the end of the spine) and the surrounding soft tissues, such as muscles.

Why is it done? 

The doctor prescribes this test to determine the source of lower back discomfort (lumbago), sciatica, or inflammation of the lumbosacral joints, as well as to detect the existence of any tumor or abnormal mass growth in the lumbosacral vertebrae or surrounding soft tissues.

• Notify your technician of metallic implants such as surgical staples, clips, or pacemakers. You may also need to remove metal objects such as jewellery or watches.
• If you are pregnant, notify your technician, as radiation may harm the baby.
