MRI PNS

A paranasal sinuses (PNS) MRI generates an image of the four pairs of air-filled gaps that surround the nasal cavity, pituitary gland, and soft tissues.

Why is it done? 

The doctor will recommend that you do this test to detect the intracranial expansion of the sinonasal region due to infection or swelling. Additionally, the exam will determine whether you are suffering from sinusitis (inflammation of the sinuses) or paranasal malignancy.

What is the procedure for the PNS Tomography Test?

The MRI radiologist will explain. 

How does one prepare for the test? 

• Notify your technician of any metallic implants such as surgical staples, clips, or pacemakers. You may also need to remove metal objects such as jewelry or metal watches.
• If you are pregnant, notify your technician, as radiation may harm the baby.

Aftercare: 

No care is required.
