What is an MRI Left Testis Test?

A Left Testis MRI produces an image of the testicles and surrounding soft tissues (blood vessels, lymph vessels, nerves, vas deferens).

The MRI Testis is performed to diagnose unexplained urine difficulties (inability to control micturition/urination) and to detect any testicular malignancy or enlargement.

Why is it done?

• To diagnose unexplained micturition/urination problems.
• To identify testicular tumors, epididymitis, and cryptorchidism (undescended testicles)
• To determine congenital/birth defect anomalies of the reproductive organ, orchitis (testis inflammation), and anorchia (absence of one or both testicles)

Patients must lie still during the MRI procedure.

How does one prepare for the test?

• Tell your technician about surgical staples, clips, or pacemakers. You may need to remove jewellery and watches.
• If you are pregnant, notify your technician, as radiation may harm the baby.
