MRI Chest With Contrast

MRI chest with contrast is undertaken when enlarged, and very detailed images of the chest cavity are needed to analyze and detect disorders. It also uses magnetic fields, radio waves, and a computer.

Procedure

MRI chest with contrast is performed using an Intravenous catheter inserted into the vein of your hand or arm. A contrast material is injected into it, during which images are taken by the radiologist or doctor. Then, they check if more pictures are needed. 

How does one prepare for the test? 

It is advised to change into a hospital gown and remove any metal objects you might be carrying, such as accessories, watches, credit cards, keys, etc. Take food and medication as usual unless advised otherwise by the doctor.

Aftercare
