MRI of the chest involves radio waves, a strong magnetic field, and a computer to produce enlarged pictures of the chest from within. It is a non-invasive test that does not use radiation. It is also used to test the functioning of the heart and blood flow.
MRI Chest produces detailed pictures of the chest cavity, including the chest wall, pleura, heart, and vessels. It is done to analyze and check abnormalities inside the structure of the chest.
The patient is asked to lay flat on his back. Wire coils are placed around his chest, and other rings are attached to the machine, which sends and receives radio waves producing results detected from the device. A computer has images based on these signals.
The first step involves changing into a hospital gown and getting rid of artificial things such as watches, jewelry, etc. Every MRI test has different guidelines for eating and drinking before the test. So take food and medication as usual unless the doctor advises otherwise.
