MRI Cardiac known as cardiovascular MRI is a non-invasive process to check the functionality of the cardiovascular system.

Why done?

It helps to diagnose cardiac diseases by assessing the heart chambers, valves, blood flow through vessels, and pericardium structures.

Procedure

A cardiac MRI is a screening of your heart wherein radio waves and magnets generate pictures without anything visible or palpable entering your body. You need to hold 10 seconds of breath every time to click the images.

How to prepare for the test? 

You will be introduced to the procedure by the hospital staff  24 to 48 hours prior to the MRI. You need to fast for 4-6 hours prior to the scan. You can take the medication with a sip of water. No metal devices are allowed to carry during the scan.

• Any valid ID proof for verification

After care: 

You can resume your work after the scan. Wait for your reports to be handed to you. If any concerns are stated in the reports consult your doctor immediately.
