Why done?

This test is basically done to check different kinds of abnormalities in liver, bile duct and pancreatic duct. Abnormalities may include stones, inflammation, infection and tumours.  

Procedure:

Scientifically-generated radio waves re-align hydrogen atoms that occur naturally in human body. Hydrogen atoms emit different amounts of energy as they return to usual alignment. Machine captures this energy to create images. 

How does one prepare for test?

Basically, you are required to observe overnight fasting before undergoing the test. Loose and comfortable clothes are also necessary. Keep all metal items and gadgets outside. Also, comply to each instruction of Radiologist.
