Liver kidney Microsomal Antibody (LKM) Antibody in dilutions, IFA antibody test is done in cases of autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) like Chronic active hepatitis, where there is much damage to the liver.

Anti-LKM-1 antibodies are proteins made by the body's immune system that recognize and attack its enzyme called cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6), mainly in liver cells. Anti-LKM-1 antibodies are prevalent in people who have type 2 autoimmune hepatitis. In this test, the amount of anti-LKM-1 (or antibody against CYP2D6) in the blood is measured.
