The BCL6 gene in humans produces the protein known as Bcl-6, also known as B-cell lymphoma 6. BCL6 is a master manipulator of the proliferation of T follicular helper cells (TFH cells). Three evolutionary conserved structural domains are present in BCL6. These domains interact with corepressors to promote the growth of B cells and the formation of germinal centres.

Lymphoma:

Currently, lymphoma is the most common type of blood cancer. Essentially, lymphomas are intricately sophisticated immunologic neoplasms.

Malignant lymphocytes have been shown to rush to the lymph nodes, spleen, bone marrow, blood, or other body organs. Additionally, tumors can grow as they accumulate. The IHC-B-Cell-Leukemia-Lymphoma-2 test provides a thorough insight into one of the body's white blood cells at the time of the diagnosis.

Preparation for IHC:

Since the test comprises the collection of fresh bone marrow, new or unfixed tissue, and a sample of peripheral blood, no special preparations are necessary. The patients can easily stick to their routine diet plan. However, patients are required to adhere to all of the doctor's fundamental instructions. Additionally, they must do well in updating the doctors on their medical background. Further, if they are allergic to any drugs or a particular class of medication, they must tell the doctors. The doctor selects how the test will be done and where the sample will come from based on all the information the patient has provided.

IHC - B-Cell Leukemia/Lymphoma procedure Test:

When doing the IHC-B-Cell-Leukemia-Lymphoma-2 test, the immunophenotyping by flow cytometry procedure is rigorously adhered to. The first step is to inject a needle through the arm veins to collect 1 ml of peripheral blood. The patient's name is then carefully inscribed on the label of a glass container that contains fresh bone marrow for core biopsy. Lastly, RPMI is used to acquire new or unfixed tissue. The laboratory receives all of the samples for further analysis.
