The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is an infectious illness known as hepatitis C that mostly affects the liver. Based on the double antigen-sandwich approach, the HCV One Step Fast Test is a lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay. On the device's test line area, recombinant HCV antigen is applied to the membrane. The HCV antigen-coated particles interact with the serum or plasma material during testing. This colored line's presence implies a successful result.

Authorized Usage

The 4th Generation HCV TRI-DOT is an in vitro diagnostic examination that is rapid, observable, susceptible, and qualitative for seeing (IgM, IgG, and IgA) antibodies to the Hepatitis C virus in human serum or plasma.

Utilizing a unique mix of modified HCV antigens, it has been constructed and assembled with higher sensitivity for core and NS3 antibodies.

Important Details

  • based on "Flow Through Technology," which shares characteristics with Elisa technology in that it incorporates washing stages at different levels to increase specificity.
  • use of immobilized Core, NS3, NS4, and NS5 HCV antigens that are highly purified.
  • detection of every HCV subtype.
  • Within three minutes, results.
  • built-in quality control feature that confirms the test.
  • 98.9% Specificity and 100% Sensitivity according to WHO evaluation.
  • 24-month frame life at 2 to 8 °C

Principle

A porous immunofixation membrane has HCV antigens immobilized on it. Both the specimen and the chemicals voyage through the membrane and are soaked into the absorbent pad beneath.

If there are any HCV antibodies in the patient's serum or plasma, they attach to the immobilized antigens when the sample travels through the membrane. Unbound serum/plasma proteins are taken out in the following washing phase.

In the following phase, the protein-A conjugate is put in, which attaches to the Fc component of the HCV antibodies to stimulate a characteristic pinkish purple dot against a white background at the examination area ("T1" &/or "T2"). A "Built-in Quality Control Dot" has been developed in the control region ("C") to ascertain that the appliance, reagent, and acceptable procedural application are all functioning adequately.

Test Methodology

  1. Before testing, make sure the sample and test kits are at room temperature.
  2. Remove the cassette from the foil-wrapped pouch by opening it. Placing on a spotless, level surface. The assay should be held out as soon as achievable for the best outcomes.
  3. One drop of the plasma or serum sample, or around 25 l, should be placed into the sample well while holding the pipette upright. Start the timer as soon as 2 drops of buffer (or around 80 l) are added to the sample well.
  4. Await the appearance of the colored line(s). Read the results after 10 minutes.
  5. Results obtained more than 20 minutes later are deemed invalid. Following testing, carefully dispose of the cassette.
