What is an Ultrasound breast?

You will be asked to remove ornaments and change into a hospital gown that is provided to you by the assisting technician. You will be asked to lie on the examination table with your arms raised above your head, so as to look at the sides of your breast. Your sonographer will first apply a clear gel over the region of breast and then a hand-held transducer is moved over the breast which sends high frequency sound waves to breast tissues. Once the procedure is over, tissue paper will be used to wipe off the gel.

Aftercare 

After a breast ultrasound, there is usually no tenderness or discomfort. You will be able to return to your routine activities soon after the test.
