Anti Ssa (Ro) Antibody Test

SS-A/Ro ANTIBODY or Anti-SS-A Antibody is a Sjogren's syndrome and lupus erythematosus diagnostic test. Sjogren's syndrome is an autoimmune disease that affects the tear and salivary glands, causing symptoms such as dry eyes, mouth, and skin, a loss of taste and smell, and joint and muscular discomfort. SS-A Antibody is virtually always identified in 60 percent to 70 percent of Sjogren's syndrome patients.

Why done?
