Adiponectin The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), commonly referred to as the EIA, is a test used to find dangerous substances by measuring and detecting antibodies in your blood. It is employed to identify the antibodies connected to particular infection conditions. The proteins that your body produces in reaction to dangerous chemicals known as antigens are known as antibodies. Take an ELISA test if you exhibit symptoms of syphilis, rotavirus, pernicious anaemia, HIV, Lyme disease, or other diseases. Additionally, this test is used in the food business to look for probable food allergies such as milk, peanuts, and almonds.

Preparation:

  • The patient should first receive a thorough explanation of the purpose of the test and how the fluid will be collected.
  • Ask the patient whether he experiences any needle phobia or dizziness while near blood.
  • The collection of fluid is not advised to be restricted in diet or fluid intake.
  • The patient is urged to disclose any past difficulties with blood donation or any known bleeding disorders.

  • Used to track the spread of illnesses including HIV, avian flu, the common cold, cholera, STDs, and more.
  • To produce coloured end products, certain substrates like ortho-phenylenediamine dihydrochloride and para-nitrophenyl phosphate are used.

  • After that, you should wrap a band around your arm to exert pressure and encourage your veins to swell with blood.
  • A vein should be pricked with a needle to get a blood sample.
