Anemia

Why is PCV lower in females?

As in females, the count of red blood cells is less. Thus the concentration of hemoglobin is less. Thus the value of PCV is less in females.

Why is the PCV test conducted?

The PCV test is used to determine the percentage of blood cell count in our blood. The physician will suspect the presence of disorders such as low body fluids, high red blood cells, and low levels of red blood cells.
