Orotic Acid Test Cost & Procedure

This test is used in the diagnosis of Hyperammonemia and Hereditary Optic aciduria. The excessive loss of poetic acid may cause many urea cycle infections and defects in arginine metabolism.

Orotic Acid:

This is a constituent of the diet.

Sources of orotic acid:

1. Milk

2. Dairy products

3. Root vegetables such as carrots have a high content of orotic acid.

The formation of pyrimidine is required for the synthesis of orotic acid. Hereditary orotic aciduria: This is an inherited condition in which the body excretes poetic acid excessively. When this is eliminated, the uridine formation is also disturbed, which is used as a part of RNA.

Megaloblastic Anaemia Pyrimidine synthesis is a process of formation of pyrimidine. The orotic acid excretion helps in this formation of pyrimidine. • This removes all the amino acids, pigments and urea from urine.
• After this, it is examined further.
