Why done?

This test is specifically carried out to examine the functions and structure of kidneys, ureter and bladder. It is a magnetic field and radio waves based test. So, you never get exposure to any kind of radiation. 

Procedure:

You will be asked to lie on a narrow table before inserting into a large donut shaped scanner. Strong magnetic field and radio waves will be generated inside to capture detailed images. 

How does one prepare for test?

This test does not require you to observe specific type of observation. But, talk to your doctor about bismuth-containing medicines like Pepto-Bismol during previous 3-4 days.

• Documents related to the medical history
• Personal ID for verification

After care:

This test does not require any kind of incision so you do not need to wait for days to return to normal life. Just collect your report and contact doctor for further treatment. Do not forget to discuss with Radiologist if feeling uncomfortable for any reason.
