• The technologist will inject a radioactive tracer into your arm.
• You will be asked to take rest as the radioactive tracer takes time to circulate to your heart muscles.
• Once the radioactive tracer circulates adequately, the images of your heart at rest will be captured. 
• Then you will be given a dobutamine injection to increase the heart rate.
• Once the dobutamine circulates adequately in your body, some more images will take as your heart rate and blood pressure will be increased.
• It takes about 60mins to 90 mins for the whole procedure of the dobutamine stress MPI test.
