Non-contrast Computed Tomography (NCCT) for clavicle aids in the visualisation of the clavicle's bones and soft tissues, also known as the shoulder bone. It is used to determine the source of sudden, persistent, or severe pain in the shoulder and surrounding areas. It aids in the detection of fractures, inflammation, or deformities in the shoulder bone and its surrounding soft tissues.

 • To detect any fractures of the clavicle (collarbone) bones that are not visible on a simple X-ray

 • To determine the cause of any unexplained pain in the collar bone area

• To detect any infection, injury, or inflammation of the surrounding soft tissues such as the muscle and tendons

Pregnant women should notify their doctor (and the x-ray technician) because the radiations could harm the foetus. If necessary, precautions can be taken to reduce the fetus's exposure to radiation.

You may be asked to wear a hospital gown during the scan, depending on the area to be imaged.

The procedure is painless and quick. this procedure is generally well-tolerated, with most patients experiencing either mild pain or no pain during the procedure. There were no patients who experienced excruciating pain.
