NCCT Arms Test

NCCT Arms Test

The forearm (including the wrist, radius, ulna, and elbow) and upper arm can be visualised using non-contrast computed tomography (NCCT) (between shoulder and elbow). It is performed to determine the source of arm pain, tenderness, swelling, and deformity. It aids in the detection of bone alignment, fracture, tumour, degeneration, and other bone-related issues in the arm.

This test is used to detect fractures in the bones of the arm that are not visible on a standard X-ray. • To diagnose any suspected infection, osteoporosis, deformities or abnormal bone growth, and arthritis; and • To detect any infection, injury, or inflammation of the soft tissues such as the muscle, tendons, and ligaments of the arm (inflammation of the joints)

Pregnant women should notify their doctor (and the x-ray technician) because the radiations could harm the foetus. If necessary, precautions can be taken to reduce the fetus's exposure to radiation.

You may be asked to wear a hospital gown during the scan, depending on the area to be imaged.

A NCCT (Non-contrast Computed Tomography) Arms Test is typically performed in a hospital's radiology department or an outpatient imaging facility. So, for the best services and reliable results, schedule your test at Ganesh Diagnostic in Yamuna Vihar.
