A follicular study scan is used to monitor follicle development in a woman's ovaries.

A follicular study is used to monitor the development of follicles in a woman's ovaries. A follicular scan or follicular monitoring is another name for it. A series of scans will be performed to determine when the mature egg will be released and the uterine walls will thicken.
