Ultrasound KUB and Prostate Test

The USG KUB test is a lower abdomen ultrasound or ultrasonography that evaluates the kidneys, ureters, and urinary bladder (KUB). In males, the seminal vesicles and prostate gland are also examined.

Assume you have symptoms like frequent urination, unintentional pee after coughing and sneezing, inability to delay the need to urinate, and urinating while straining. In that case, a KUB ultrasonogram will be performed.

This ultrasound (USG) test is typically used to detect changes in kidney size, kidney damage symptoms, the presence of blockages such as kidney stones and tumours, and structural abnormalities in the KUB region. This imaging technique is inexpensive, non-invasive, and exposes the patient to only a small amount of radiation, making it suitable for pregnant women.

This procedure necessitates little to no preparation. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and leave your jewellery at home. Wearing a gown and lying on your side with your knees toward your chest may be required. An ultrasound transducer, a plastic cylinder about the size of a finger, is inserted a short distance into the rectum to obtain high-quality images. If a biopsy is planned, you may be advised to refrain from taking aspirin and other blood thinners for seven to ten days before the procedure. An enema may be prescribed to clean out your bowel.

The procedure is painless and quick. this procedure is generally well-tolerated, with most patients experiencing either mild pain or no pain during the procedure. There were no patients who experienced excruciating pain.
