KUB ULTRASOUND PROCEDURE

KUB ULTRASOUND PROCEDURE

Your doctor may order a KUB ultrasound in order to assess your urinary system (which includes the kidneys, ureters, and urinary bladder). In male patients, the prostate gland is also scanned.

You could ask for a KUB ultrasound:

  • Examine the bladder wall for any alterations
  • Keeping an eye out for adjustments in kidney size or structure
  • Inspect the urinary system for stones
  • Determine the causes of your recurring kidney infection
  • Determine the source of pelvic or renal pain

Precautions

A pint of water must be had one hour prior to your scan, and you must have a full bladder. Don't let your bladder empty during this time.

Procedure

It is not painful or invasive to get a KUB ultrasound examination. On the examination table, you will be requested to lie on your back and expose your lower abdomen. To obtain the required image, our exceptionally skilled and experienced sonographer will slide a transducer lubricated with warm gel across your lower abdomen.

After Care

Following the procedure, there is no special type of care required.
