Q- What happens during CT?

Before scan

Commonly you don’t need to do anything prior to scan. In few cases doctor will give you a liquid (contrast media) through vein, orally and sometime it is inserted in your rear end. This contrast media shows up on the scan more clearly and helps in better diagnosis.

During Scan

You are advice to lie still as the table moves through a donut like scanner.  

You may advise to hold the breath for short time for better imaging
