What are the Indications of the HSG Test?

HSG may be done before fertility treatment such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) to ensure the uterus and fallopian tubes are healthy. It is also recommended to detect the issues that may affect the success of the treatment.

The Hysterosalpingography (HSG) Test is usually indicated to evaluate the following conditions:

Infertility: HSG is commonly used to evaluate female infertility caused by blocked fallopian tubes and other issues in the uterus.

Recurrent Miscarriage: An HSG Test can detect any abnormalities or defects in the uterus that may be causing recurrent miscarriage.

Pelvis Pain: An HSG Test helps in finding the source of pelvis pain.  the source of pelvic pain, such as endometriosis or adhesions.

Confirmation of sterilization: HSG can confirm the proper placement of contraceptive devices like tubal ligation or intrauterine devices (IUDs).
