Both EMG and NCV are indicated in variety of situations:

  • Unusual  and unexplained muscle weakness
  • Family history of muscular disorders
  • Family history of neurological disorders
  • Previous history of muscular or neurological disorders
  • After fractures  to check for any nerve damage
  • To monitor progress of nerve conduction velocity after treatment
  • To check for residual muscle weakness after proper management of various muscular disorders
  • Unusual or prolonged tingling sensations in hands, arms, legs, feet, face or any other part of body.
  • Muscle twitching, spasms or cramps
  • Paralysis of any muscle of body
  • Unusual sensations across any part of body.
