- H. pylorus is considered a gram-negative bacillus which is usually found within gastric epithelial cells.
- This bacterium is responsible for around 90% of the duodenal ulcers and also in 70% to 90% of the gastric ulcers.
- The H. pylori infection is also more prevalent among the lower socioeconomic status and thus, can be commonly acquired during childhood period.
