What is an X-ray Mandible Left LAT. Oblique Test?

X-ray Mandible Left Lateral Oblique Test is used to examine the mandible structure, the temporomandibular joint (TM joint), and the surrounding muscles and soft tissues.

Why is it done? 

• Any jaw pain, discomfort, or difficulty moving may be diagnosed by doing a jaw movement test.
• For any impacted teeth to be found (wisdom teeth)
• To determine whether there are any jaw fractures or dislocations.
• To determine whether there is an infection, inflammation, cyst, or tumor in the jaw.

What is the Procedure for the Mandible Left Lateral Oblique Radiograph Test?

The X-Ray technician will explain. 

How does one prepare for the test? 

• Wear loose-fitting clothing. No preparation is needed.
• If you are pregnant, notify your technician, as radiation may harm the baby.

After Care: 

No care is required.
