What is an X-ray Left Hand AP LAT Test?

An X-ray of the hand uses a small quantity of radiation to safely and painlessly visualize the hand's bones and soft tissues (skin and muscles). Carpals (wrist bones), metacarpals (bones between the wrist and fingers), and phalanges are the bones of the hand (bones of fingers).

Why is it done? 

• This test aims to diagnose and monitor any broken or fractured bones in the hand that has been set.

• To identify any infection, deformities, abnormal bone growth, and arthritis (inflammation of the joints).
