What is an X-ray Cervical Spine AP & LAT View Test?

AP and LAT X-rays of the cervical spine View test sees the first seven vertebrae (C1–C7). This test lets the doctor see the intervertebral discs and the skin and muscles around them. 

Why is it done? 

This test is given to find the cause of neck pain, check for damage to the spine's bones, look for tumors or infections of the spine, and look for problems with the discs.

The X-ray technician will explain. 

How does one prepare for the test? 

• Before the X-ray, you might be asked to go to the bathroom and empty your bladder. You should wear loose-fitting clothing.

• Notify your sonography technician in the case of a pregnancy. Unreported radiation may harm the baby. Precautions can be taken to protect the baby.

After Care: 

No care is required.
